NYC Update

So, I guess you've heard? The thing about the economic meltdown and unprecented number of unemployment? I am sad to report that many of my graduate school buddies have felt the pain of the ax - the pain to the id and the ego that no severeance package will assuage.

I'm no exception. I'm thankful that I still have a job. But my days are spent researching my options. The corporate atmosphere is disheartening. I hear that two of my peers were let go today. I hear two left "volunatarily" fearing the ax.

I see many empty stores. Many quaint restaurants have closed.

But, one still requires a divine inspiration to get a reservation at Per Se.

I'm so frustrated that I'm always 0.001 seconds too late from getting a table at Momfuku Ko.

Have you seen the new Lincoln Center Fountain?

Have you heard about the boooo at the Met?

I am now addicted to Frozen Yogurt.

Which is a much healthier (on my wallet that is) than these lovelies.

Yountville anyone?
